Executive Summary
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Barbados. (CFFB) is a non-profit charitable organization which was founded by Mr. Michael and Cherrene Turton. The Turtons are the parents of Joshah Turton who is diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). The CFFB was incorporated on 6th April 2011.
CF (also known as mucuvoidosis
, or mucoviscidosis) is a life-threatening inherited disease caused by a defective gene. CF creates a thick sticky mucus which clogs the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system. This results in chronic infections and inflammation in the lungs as well as difficulty digesting food within the diagnosed patient.
The purpose of the CFFB is to create awareness amongst the Barbadian Public and the rest of the world about the foundation's efforts. It is also proposed to provide assistance to those affected with Cystic Fibrosis. By definition, it is a non-profit charity organization formed for charitable purposes. Therefore, the purpose of this plan is to generate public interest and awareness; through a blend of deliberate and results-oriented strategies and tactics.
